Why does the color sometimes bleed onto my skin or background?

It's a known limitation of color-edit models. Most common with very bright shades (pastel lavender, bright copper) and photos where hair touches skin tightly. Try a source photo with more separation between hair and face, or a slightly darker shade variant.
